Tom Holland is a fresh curd that learned to hold its shape under pressure. Soft entry, surprising depth, and the kind of actor who gets better the harder the role asks of him. Start with The Impossible. A boy trapped in a disaster, and Holland carries the physical toll without ever asking for sympathy, just showing you what it costs. The Devil All the Time and Cherry proved he could crack the mould; Arvin is a man carrying rage like a stone in his pocket, and Holland lets you feel the weight. Cherry is the opposite register entirely, a young addict spiralling, played with a rawness that had no safety net. He does not perform damage; he shows you how it happens from the inside. Then there is Spider-Man. Six films, and what could have been a brand name became something more interesting: a kid learning that power has teeth, played by an actor who understood restraint. Peter Parker's best moments are the ones where Holland stops performing and just listens. The Lost City of Z, The Current War, even the voice work in Spies in Disguise, all showed the same thing: he works hardest when the scene demands something small. He has spent his career proving that a fresh cheese can age into something with real backbone, and he is not done yet.
