Monster: The Ed Gein Story
This is the performance that sparked the idea that is Big Cheese. I finished watching this performance and was left in this eerie shadow like state for honestly weeks, all because of this performance. I had to talk to people about it, but everyone found the show distasteful. I wanted to go deep about how insane his voice adaptation was however the only people who had heard of Charlie Hunnam were those who had watched Sons of Anarchy which couldn’t of been a persona further from Ed Gein. To go from a convincing, hard as nails, biker gang, murderous, rampage inducing character like Jax, to a serial killer with a quivering high-pitched voice, shy and dainty demeanour with intensely grotesque characteristics boggles my mind. It’s still a performance I often go back and just think - how did he do that??!! This is where we seperate the tv show from the acting. Hunnam showed us what he can do and the range he has and he’s sucked me in to watch everting he does now. 7 huge, melted slabs of cheese ratings all round 🧀🧀🧀🧀🧀🧀🧀
